Elevated Eco-Space
Fundamentals of L.Architecture P2
2024
The Elevated Eco-Space is a outdoor wellness oasis for the community of San Luis, Colorado. Utilizing a 2% consistent slope to guide water through the site, this space is able to carve out room for water. The nearest acequia bordering the eastern side of the site provides direct connection to the channels carved out of contour slopes that guide water through a primary retention pond, down to the southern waterscape and out west towards the natural slope of the area. The site is highlighted by a raised boardwalk connecting 6 community spaces to each other that is entered from the northern ground level to provide accessibility options for everyone. The key moments of this area being the elevated track on the eastern side and a children’s designated play area in the northwest corner promote health and wellness as well as environmental interaction for the community of San Luis.

Contour Garden
Foundations of Architecture P2
2023
The contour garden project built on earlier lessons by encouraging creative rule-breaking, incorporating level changes, and introducing curves into the design. Located on an arid site next to a new building and major bike paths, the garden was designed to attract passersby with its unique features. The lowered gathering area on the north side, hidden from view, and an island peeking out, were intended to draw curiosity and invite people into the space rather than overwhelming them with a large hill. This project also introduced realistic trees that provide shade, creating a comfortable environment in the harsh sun, and focused on small details to enhance the overall experience.
Courtyard Garden
Foundations of Architecture P1
2023
This project, the first in our undergraduate architecture studies at the University of Arizona, focused on learning the basics of concept development and translating ideas into physical designs. We explored collages, plan and section drawings, and model building to bring our concepts to life. Located on an old basketball court, the project aimed to transform the space into a functional garden with paths, gathering areas, and bodies of water. My design prioritized easy movement through the garden, connecting four points to ensure people could pass through without avoiding the space, while gathering areas offered both refuge and prospect of the surrounding environment.
